2004 USA GYMNASTICS OLYMPIC TRIALS Anaheim, California
National Travel Systems was the official travel provider and housing coordinator for the 2004 USA Gymnastics Olympic Trials held at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California.
NTS performed the following functions:
- Negotiating and Signing for 10,000 room nights including rebates and commissions over 2 hotels alleviating organizing committee of any responsibility of attrition penalties
- Via telephonic, electronic mail, and online registration, coordinated the travel and housing requests of athletes, judges, spectators, media personnel, and staff members
- Coordinated and carried out a comprehensive transportation plan that included airport pick ups and drop offs and transportation between hotels and venue
- Facilitated the orderly and timely hotel check-in of all involved
- Developed travel packages for spectators and assisted in marketing them
- Manned a “sports desk” that assisted all involved with questions and problems that arose during the competition
- Reconciled hotel pickups with the hotels daily. Facilitated in the collection and disbursement of hotel rebates and commissions
2004 Pacific Life Holiday Bowl Texas Tech University vs. CAL
In Partnership with the Texas Tech University Athletics Red Raider Club, National Travel Systems, developed, marketed, sold, and conducted travel packages to the 2004 Pacific Life Holiday Bowl featuring the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Cal Golden Bears.
National Travel Systems:
- Chartered a Southwest Airlines 737 jet from Lubbock to San Diego
- Completed all paperwork to file charter with Department of Transportation
- Developed a travel package for TTU fans to attend 2004 Pacific Life Holiday Bowl
- Took reservations and collected money for persons buying travel package
- Personally escorted chartered jet. Offloaded all passengers and luggage on tarmac onto buses in less than 15 minutes. Had all passengers checked into hotel in less than 45 minutes from the time they landed in San Diego
- Conducted tours of San Diego for charter participants
- Fascilitated transportation for participants from San Diego Marriott and Marina to Qualcomm Stadium and back for the game
- Fascilitated the transportation of charter participants from San Diego Marriott to airport onto waiting charter aircraft for transportation back to Lubbock
2003 World Gymnastics Championships Anaheim, California
National Travel Systems was the official travel provider and housing company for the 2003 World Gymnastics Championships which were held at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California. NTS was responsible for the travel and housing arrangements for delegation members from 82 countries, judges, staff members, spectators, and media personnel. National Travel Systems negotiated and signed for over 30,000 room nights spread over 4 different hotels.
In addition, we planned, organized, and supervised the implementation of a meal plan for the delegation members. Also, National Travel Systems arranged for and coordinated a comprehensive transportation plan that included thousands of athletes, coaches, judges, media, and spectators. National Travel Systems also arranged for and supervised the meet/greet plan and transportation of delegation members, spectators, media personnel, and staff members from Los Angeles International Airport and Orange County Airport to the participants respective hotels.
To recap, National Travel Systems was responsible for the following functions:
- Negotiating and Signing for 30,000 room nights including rebates and commissions over 4 hotels alleviating organizing committee of any responsibility of attrition penalties
- Via telephonic, electronic mail, and online registration, coordinated the travel and housing requests of 82 countries, judges, spectators, media personnel, and staff members
- Collected and disbursed over 2 million dollars from registration fees, credential requests, housing requests, tour packages, and airline reservations and ensured that all monies owed were collected
- Coordinated and carried out a comprehensive transportation plan that included airport pick ups and drop offs and transportation between hotels and venue
- Facilitated the orderly and timely hotel check-in of all involved
- Developed travel packages for spectators and assisted in marketing them
- Manned a “sports desk” that assisted all involved with questions and problems that arose during the competition
- Reconciled hotel pickups with the hotels daily. Facilitated in the collection and disbursement of hotel rebates and commissions
